Back in September, I fearlessly predicted that the New Orleans Saints, with their explosive offense and improving defense would be Super Bowl winners this year. When I wandered into the library I saw with dismay this cover on the current Sports Illustrated. Cursed again!
But then I went to their online version and I saw this pic of Ryan Howard as the cover photo. I wish it was A-Rod or someone from the Yanks instead--drat, cursed again!
I don't know if this a regional variation--those of us outside NY and Philly got Reggie Bush flying through the air and they got Ryan Howard. Another variation is subscriber vs. new stand. Either way, we will have to watch for the impact of the infamous SI cover curse.
