Hey Sportsfans!

You may note that all the widgets are gone. One of them got corrupted and was not allowing the net surfer to come and visit us at You're Looking Live... People were getting redirected, and it was ugly. I was afraid of something nasty that might get in your and my computer. So, for now, all widgets are gone. The site works now.

I'll miss that random sports card widget. Maybe later we can get it back on, but for now, no widgets!

March Madness Is Just Getting Started!

The America East Conference tournament is set to start late this week, with the championship games for both the men and women on March 13th. The men's game will be on "The Deuce" (aka EPSN2) at 1100 central time. Both Vermont men and women are seeded second. Winner gets to go to the NCAA tournament and upset some major program.

Update on Our South Zone Teams

Rockhurst fell behind early to LS North, caught up with strong defense, but couldn't quite get the victory. (Kansas City Star photo)

Unfortunately both our south district teams went down to defeat in the Missouri Sectionals. Rockhurst lost to Lee's Summit North 59-55. Center lost to Warrensburg 53-51. Both teams had outstanding seasons, and have nothing to hang their heads about.

Sunflower Showdown Day

Got the KU-K State game on ESPN 360 broadband service while I'm here poking around on the computer in the library. (BTW, kudos to ESPN for the free view.)

K State was behind by as many as 13, but closed it to 4, before being behind by 7 at the half.

Second half's started, we will keep you up to date.

Two big questions, both about K State: Can they defend KU and can they score on KU? (They looked seriously befuddled during the first 12 minutes of the first half.)

Well, it's the day after the game. K State tied the game at 45-45 with 17 minutes left in the second half.

Then KU spurted. Twice. Outscored the Wildcats 37-20 the remainder of the game. Kansas State could not score consistently. Often the offense consisted of Denis Clemente looking for a path to the basket. Nothing else seemed to work very well. There is no doubt, Kansas is very good, and a lock for a one seed in the Big Dance.

Kansas Loses in Stillwater

Kansas lost 77-85 to Oklahoma State in a game widely regarded as a tricky one for the Jayhawks. The Cowboys shot 60% from the floor, 53% from beyond the three point line, out rebounded Kansas and in general made KU look silly.

Bill Self on the post game radio: "We sucked." "Very disappointing. " "We didn't guard and we didn't rebound...a soft team out there today." "Big guys had bad, bad games." "Never in it after first TV timeout." "A bad performance by us...they [OK St] were really good on the offensive end." "It was a bad night...we all contributed...coaches, players..." "They were just better then us today, in all facets."

If it is any consolation, Kentucky stubbed its toe against Tennessee this afternoon. Do you want the Volunteers in your NCAA bracket?

Congratulations on District Wins for Rockhurst and Center!

Close but no cigar for the Raytown South Cardinals against Rockhurst.

The high schools are the tasty appetizer to the college boys' tournament--and the food has been terrific. Ray South and Rockhurst hooked up in a close one, with the Hawklets prevailing by one point. They will meet Grandvew on Saturday at 3 pm at Rockhurst for the Class 5 District championship. Ruskin will play Center at O'Hare Saturday at 2 pm for the Class 4 District championship. Both games should be terrific games.

And BOO to the Kansas City Star if they don't give the district playdowns more coverage!
